For sale is one new, second-grade/irregular: Montblanc Great Characters Miles Davis Special Edition Fountain Pen, Medium Nib, model M25733; made in Germany. Complete with Service Guide, Gift-Case, and Outer Box. This is a genuine product. Condition Note: New with minor manufacturing imperfection. 1 There is a tiny indentation on the clip. It is located on the top'button' at the edge. On the same button, there is also a nearly invisible, pinprick-size bump, so well as a subtle'low spot'. These issues are not from damage but a casting or tooling imperfection present before the plating was applied.

Such irregularities occur from time to time and occasionally sneak past Montblanc's inspection; they are somewhat common with the Miles Davis clips. While not necessarily ideal for the collector, this would be a fine pen for daily use.

The effect is quite negligible, and shall be even less so as the pen is used and experiences the typical micro-scratches, etc.. Please see the two close-up photographs for details (only the indentation was able to be captured).

2 Box flap is mildly distressed from opening. Actual pen for sale shown in images. The Miles Davis Special Edition Fountain Pen honors the jazz musician with luxurious design that is distinctively Montblanc. Its form is inspired by the image of a trumpet, emphasized by finger buttons on the clip and the mouthpiece cone.

The body and cap are black precious-resin with platinum-coated accents, and engraved with symbolic patterns from the five jazz movements Davis helped create. The medium nib is 14K gold with a special engraving of his silhouette and the year number 2006, the date he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

He final touch is the iconic Montblanc snowca. Black precious-resin cap and barrel. Blue cone recalls'Kind of Blue' album. 14K gold nib, size medium.
